Coffee has grown on this island for over 400 years — first planted by Portuguese colonists, then reborn after a leaf rust epidemic gave rise to an entirely new varietal: Hibrido de Timor.
Today, the Cooperativa Cafe Timor tends that legacy across high-altitude villages, with smallholders farming less than a hectare each. Fair Trade certified since 2001, the cooperative turns every harvest into something larger than a single farm could manage alone.
The result is a cup as grounded as its history — low acidity, full body, and deep notes of cocoa, cedar, and black pepper.
